Austin is licensed to practice law in Georgia and Alabama. He concentrates his practice primarily in the areas of commercial real estate and corporate law. Through his real estate practice, Austin regularly assists his clients in purchases, sales, asset-based financing, development, leasing, land use, and zoning matters throughout the Southeastern United States. Austin also represents clients in judicial proceedings ancillary to his real estate practice, including quieting title to land, judicial foreclosure, property tax appeals, and related actions. In addition, Austin routinely assists lenders in the recovery of secured assets, primarily through non-judicial foreclosure and workouts.
In his corporate practice, Austin advises clients in various matters, including entity selection and formation, debt and equity financing, acquisitions and dispositions, and governance. His experience ranges from guiding individual clients and small business owners through routine day-to-day matters to representing and advising large, established businesses, municipalities, and developers in complex, negotiated transactions.
Austin also serves as counsel to the Town of Pine Mountain, Georgia and regularly advises local housing and economic development authorities with respect to bond financing, regulatory compliance, and governance.
Austin was born and raised in Columbus, Georgia. He graduated with honors from Mercer University School of Law, where he served on Mercer Law Review’s Editorial Board and was inducted into the Brainerd Currie Honor Society.
