J. Edward (Ed) Sprouse (Retired)

Mr. Sprouse concentrates his practice in the areas of corporate and business representation, general corporate law, taxation, acquisition and disposition of businesses, revenue and municipal bond financing, and estate planning and administration.

Mr. Sprouse is the author of “Consent Decrees and Treble Damages: More Effective Anti-Trust Enforcement”, 4 Georgia Law Review 592, 1970. He is also the co-author of “Siegel v. Chicken Delight: Clarification of the Legality of Franchise Tying Arrangements”, 5 Georgia Law Review 151, 1970.

Mr. Sprouse has been actively involved in a number of community activities. He is past member of the Vestry of Trinity Episcopal Church and past Senior Warden. He has served on the Board of Directors of the Rotary Club of Columbus (where he is Past-President), and has served on the Boards of, and is the Past Chairman of, the Greater Columbus, Georgia Chamber of Commerce, St. Francis Hospital, Inc., Uptown Columbus, Inc., Columbus Technical College Foundation, and Muscogee Educational Excellence Foundation. He is currently on the Boards of Historic Columbus Foundation and the Pastoral Institute. Mr. Sprouse has also served on the Boards of Directors of the Columbus Museum, Inc., the Metropolitan Boys Club of Columbus, the Hughston Sports Medicine Foundation, Inc., and the Leadership Council for the Columbus State University College of Education and Health Professions.
